what day did they hatch?

I have a 18 weeker... hatched march 21. she started laying last week, she is a leghorn. but I think your buff looks most ready. I also have a buff that hatched on april 22 and she keeps getting in the box, she started much earlier than my leghorn. so I think she will start laying soon also.

For me, there's always that suspense when your pullets that you raised from wee little fluffy chicks finally get to laying age. You start checking them and the nest boxes several times a day, some people call you crazy for doing so (LOL!), and then the excitement and glee the moment you find the first egg!

This is my 3rd year with chickens too!

I'm eagerly awaiting my RIR pullets to reach laying age. They're 17 weeks old today, so I don't have too much longer to wait!

We have a second egg!

I left earlier to today to care of a few things, while I was leaving I was the RIR go up to the nest boxes. When I got home about 3 hours later there was a little brown egg in the nest box.

Their pullet egg laying predictions were correct. We bow to your chicken knowledge!

For the record my prediction was WLH and BSL. But I was really torn between the NH, RIR and BSL they are all going to start laying soon.

Just 3 days ago I got a 3rd egg it was brown and then yesterday there was 4 eggs (1 white , three brown). So we have 4 pullets all started laying in 6 days. Very tight race.
