Who is pipping and waiting right now??

chickenranch, can you post a picture? I had one that hatched last week with sticky film all over it. It dried and when I thought the chick was stable enough I gently washed it's head. It was also hatched with a large red sack attached to it. I was wondering if it is the same thing?

I've got 6 more quail pipping!!!

Ozark, I was trying to upload pictures to photobucket, but it keeps telling me it failed. What you had last week sounds like what I have tonight. I wish I could upload with photobucket, but it's not letting me. Sorry, the sac was red here too.

Got to school THREE hours early today. I look inside my homemade incubator...and I'm slightly disappointed.

Look a LITTLE closer...and I SEE A PIP!!!!

The Lone Ranger is on his way!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh!!!!!!!

*Breathe, breathe, breathe*
And we have a STOOpid field trip today. I'm always up for a field trip but NOT TODAY!!!

Thanks for the positive hatching vibes!

#3 is started.

I'm thinking my bator is running a tad cool. Thermometer has been reading just 99 the last week. I put a fleece jacket around part of it to kick the temp up. It's it's 3rd year running so I suppose it could need adjusting. Jacket over just shy of half the window and side was enough to move the temp up half a degree.

They are coming so spaced out it's maddening! I put the first two into their brooder box and misted the remaining eggs. They are eating and drinking and already playing with the slightly older marans I have in there. Plenty healthy and strong.

I wish I could remember... I should write things down, the memory isn't what it was. Did I set them April 1 or did I do it in the morning the next day and just decided that April Fools was easier to remember.

No sign of any ducks yet. I need ducks!!!
