Who is pipping and waiting right now??

The best hatch I have ever had was when I had to go out of town right before hatching time. I took the eggs out of the turner and put the water in to up the humidity and then came back on day 21 to find chicks hatching on their own and I got 100% hatch. They do much better if we just leave them alone and stop fussing over them. I am trying to stay busy right now so I don't watch the bator. Guess I need to leave, maybe get a good hatch again???

Today is day 19 for mine.

Well I have two more that are half hatched! Number 10 pipped as well. I am wondering how long should I keep the quail in the incubator. It's a bit breezy out and I'm afraid to take them out in it even in a box and walk the block over to the shop where the brooder is waiting.

I was instructed to wait an hour or so until they're dry. They're so small that they'll get dehydrated quickly, so you want to move them to a brooder with food and water as soon as you can.

#10 for me is busting out of the shell now...

Number four hatched fine, number 5 came out with a bit of yolk still attached and number three died halfway out of the shell. Number 11 pipped. Candled 12 and 13 during checks and they are two rottens that got past my checks.

I hate that. I'm so sorry. That's been the most frustrating part of this whole thing with the Buttons... I can't candle them! I can only tell by the way they feel. I've only had one so far that pipped but died. Now the Bobwhites are white eggs... I can see into those... one is developing quite nicely. 3 in the bator, 2 more to go in soon.

Mrs. AK-Bird-Brain :

Oh dear lord... I set a timer to come back inside to take the dried quail chicks out of the incubator... and there's two more pipping!!! What a way to spread it out!!! I don't know how much more of this my heart can handle!

There's 8 in the brooder now, and two more on the way! Woot! ACE!!! Way to go!!! Isn't it awesome!

My chicks did not hatch until day 24 because of my temp. Can you wait another day. I remember reading: Do not take them out until after day 25. Don't give up
