Who is pipping and waiting right now??

oh, AK, I think they will be ok, just fire the temp back up and stand back and hold your breath

I sure hope they do hatch tomorrow for you.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Hopefully the temp won't mess with them this late into development.

I'm on day 17, tomorrow I stop turning and wait with my nose pressed up against the bator window.

This morning when I turned them, I closed it back up and slid it back to the corner of the counter, and looked back in the window like I always do. I thought my eyes were playing tricks, because I thought I saw an egg move. So I stood there for like, five minutes, and finally, yes, there was a wobble from my biggest BR egg. I stood up and did this happy little arm dance, you know, like to say, YES!!!, and there was my husband staring at me with this strange look.

I said what? and he told me either I didn't get near enough sleep or I had serious chicken issues.

LOL, probably both, but it sure made me happy to see that little egg jiggle.

Mrs. AK-Bird-Brain :

Hey Ace... how'd your batch of quail finally finish up?

9 full hatched but the last one on the tail end of the hatch was really weak. I wound up burying him the next day. My remaining quail are happily bouncing about the brooder. I lost track of which chick is Crazy Larry since now...all of them like playing the tunnel around under the paper towels game.

I have 40 or so ameraucana eggs pipping right now. I have black, blue, buff and silver hatching. The wheatens and blue wheatens already hatched.

I will be taking most of them to a show with me in Hamilton, MT this weekend to donate and to sell as they are having an auction.

Go babies go, everyone has to be ready by Friday at 2:00.

Well, I did fire the incubator back up, and I'm

I put a step-stool over the plugs (the sockets are in the floor) so the dogs can't knock 'em loose again.

Then I went outside to hammer out some frustrations on the new coop... I made a lot of progress!

Ace, that's wonderful news! I'm sorry about the one... :aww Now their just fleas and popcorn bouncing around the brooder! I'm frantically making pens for them... It didn't really sink in how fast they mature! The week old guy is almost flying!

Mangled, I've done exactly the same thing you did. It's like a one-man staring match, holding your breath, waiting for that egg to wiggle... then when you do it's

Today is day 20 for my batch of 27, and I got two pips overnight.

The humidity in the 'bator is higher than I'd like (close to 80%), but I don't want to take the top off to try and get some water out. I think I'll get my wife to pull out the vent plug and see if that helps.

These eggs came from my birds. The father is a Rhode Island Red, and the the mothers are buff orpingtons, black jersey giants, and barred rocks. Hopefully I'll get some cool-looking babies out of them.

I miscalculated on the date I placed my Manchurian eggs into the incubator. I went to turn them and get ready to stop turning in a few days and as I reached for one I saw the taletell sign of a pip. They are hatching ahead of time.
