ok, set some eggs of my eggs on the 25th and some shipped serama eggs on the 26th. I moved them all to the hatcher on friday the 11th......out of my eggs i got 2 silkies, 4 bo's and 5 polish.......I was begining to give up on the serama eggs. I had thought they would have hatched the day before or on the day with my eggs. Well i got up this morning, to 5 hatched with 8 more pipped. I moved the ones in the hatcher out, my humidity was really high, had condensation on the windows. So far 4 more have hatched.

Tuesday the 15th i moved a set of 7 eggs to the hatcher also, these are 5 of my own and 2 of Melanies blue silkie eggs (cries the only 2 i have left). I did candle them and there was lots of movment in those 2 so i am keeping my fingers crossed. sending tones of hatching vibes to those 2 babies........

Miss Prissy,

My sebbie has not moved any farther since yesterday morning. I have made it's "pip" hole larger and have made sure the membranes are kept moist.

At what point did you intervene? I pulled back a little of the membrane this morning and there was still a little blood, but the part around the upper part of the egg where the air cell and goslings head is looks "done".

Thanks,

What day are you on with the sebbie? I waited until day 30 - 32 to do anything to help. Get the humidity up to at least 85%.

Whistle at it. For long amounts of time. The more you whistle the more active you will see it become. You can actually whistle them out of the shell if you have the time and patience to stand there and call them. Give them a break then come back and start again. They do get to moving when stimulated.

I never helped until I saw they were becoming weak and just couldn't hatch themselves. Then I only helped by picking away small bits of the shell. They had to tear out of the membrane and stretch themselves out of the egg. I also wrapped mine in thick very wet, warm socks and left the air space open at the pip. If you help too soon they die. If you help to late they die. It is hard to know when to help but I do know it is better to let them do as much as they can themselves.
