Who is pipping and waiting right now??

My one little Red Dorking...

He/she (I think it's a she?) peeped herself into oblivion. I'm desperately waiting for at least one more of the remaining 3 eggs to hatch...

I just don't have very good luck with shipped eggs... the majority of them die somewhere along the line, and I can't figure out why. (I'm almost afraid to try hatching Cyn's Blue Orps...

I'm done with hatching chicken eggs after that - it's getting too expensive.)
I'm amazing that this little tyke made it, and was so strong. Pip to peep in about an hour in a carton. She has curled toes on one foot, so we made a little bootie for her, and making sure she has vitamins in her water.

Hey Tori congrats on that baby here is praying they all hatch.

I had my 1st blue orp from jimmy47 hatch and 3 more pips and going to town. That leaves 8 just hanging in the bator day 22 today. I love that carton method can't say enough good about it.

Hang in there Tori.

ChickNLittle

Momma Banty did all the work. Well most of the work. Not all of the eggs were hers. 7 banty eggs and one standard egg. I think the yellow chick in front is from the standard.

Hey Jean!

Congrats on your babies!!!

I tell you what... those two single chicks are more precious than diamonds...
"Ginger" is cuddled up in a towel under my desk lamp as I work this afternoon. She's keeping me company since everyone else is gone fishing this weekend...

How is it possible not to lose your heart so completely to these little fuzzy butts?

I am not sure Tori but I know some have mine I have one from my first hatch (designer chicks) I think it is a Cochin Black/mix ? He has feathers all the way down to his toes, looks like a bad hair day on his feet (I say he as when I go to feed them the neck goes up as high as it will stretch and then the strut starts. I have about 9 or 10 out of 23 that does this, what do you think roo's. Anyway he is black and has yellow high lights too cute at least I hope he is a roo as I am keeping him LOL.

Update 3 blue orps out and 1 pip and 7 hanging in the bator trying to drive me crazy LOL

Oh, Tori, it's adorable! It looks similar to the Speckled Sussex and the Welsummers I've hatched.
Almost time to start collecting your Blue Orpingtons, friend. Those fluffy blue divas better deliver the goods, too, or I'll fuss at them all summer long, LOL.

BTW, there's a little Wyandotte pullet chick with my broody hen now named Victoria, after her new friend in Alaska. Her sister's name is Virginia for all my BYC friends in Virgina and W. Va.

Awwwwww!!! Now you've done gone and made me cry... dammit.

That is so sweet! I hope she turns out to be quite the little character for you.

You know... the gal that's sending me quail eggs says she marks the package as a fragile glass vase (no mention of eggs) and insures it for $100. She's had very few eggs broken. Now that's sneaky! LOL!
