Who is pipping and waiting right now??

As of this morning, I had 2 out of 33 pip. This is day 23, but I've had temp issues, so they could be delayed. I would be ecstaticwith a 50% rate, but any chicks are better than none.

I think tomorrow if no more progress has been made by the other eggs, I'll start checking them out.

Fingers crossed!

I am no longer hatching or waiting! On Tuesday I had 11 dark brown eggs in the incubator and 8 hatched throughout the day. This morning I shut down the LG and discarded the last eggs, none of which were fertile. This was our third hatch and fifth attempt and we got a 100% hatch of fertile eggs! We were ecstatic! Now we have two brooders going with a total of 24 chicks in them. 6 are about to move to the coop with the big birds and then I will put the new chicks in with the week olds. My homemade incubator is calibrated and ready! Next month we are going to hatch some for a retired gentleman down the road, after that we are hoping to start hatching Delawares!

Out of 14 eggs, only one pipped, but died in the shell. I didn't even realize it had pipped because it was on the bottom side of the egg. I cracked it open and man, that chick looked big. I figured it was too big for the shell.

I am on day 20 of seven eggs from my daughters mutts and two pipped this morning but nothing yet. I just checked on them again and I can hear peeping so I know atleast one is ok. Then I have six Jersey Giant/Splash Cochin that went in on the 25th. I can't wait to see them. Although the JG were in with a white leghorn for a week so not sure who the daddy is..........
