Who is pipping and waiting right now??

I have 6 ee's hatched,

all but one is fluffed out and ready to get out.

lol One pipped but died before hatching.

That was a first for me. Out of the two eggs left to hatch I hear tapping in one so I know it is good.

Get this now, when I candled these green eggs the other day because I had become nervous I didn't see any movement but heard internal peeping in one egg. Well that is the egg I don't hear or see anything from now. Whats up with that???

I forgot to add that after hatching Miss Lulus silkie babies a couple weeks ago these ee's seem huge. lol A plus to the whole deal, not a screamer to the bunch like last hatch.

i have 40 just put down in the hatching tray,,, lol,,, this tray of eggs NEVER got candled

Well its looking like the final count is 7 out of 9. Boy they look huge compared to the silkies I did last hatch. lol I'm waiting on the last one to dry now and then on to the brooder. 6 fuzzy butts and 1 wet butt. All the first ones to hatch are a lighter color but the last one is real dark. I can't wait to see it dry.

I'm turning off my bator for the second time this winter, you beleive me right. lol Oh yeah I gotta get a group shot in a pic.

Chillin: The bigger chicks might be from older hens' eggs. The chicks I just hatched out are some of the smallest chicks I have ever hatched. Almost like bantams, even tho they are Partial Jersey Giants. The hens the eggs came from had just started laying and the roos were still in with them So I was checking for fertility and I was supprised.

Lost one of the 10 for some unknown reason. The rest of them are healthy fluff-balls. I've seen bigger cotton balls when they hatched. Now at day 5 they look the size of normal just hatched chicks.

I have a pip! I have 6 silkie eggs, and 1 huge blue egg in the bator its the start of day 20 and 1 just pipped. I am so excited these are test eggs for a fellow BYCer. I hope they all hatch. Looks like its going to be a long night. More babies! Sad though my bator will be empty after these hatch for the first time since Sept.
