Hi guys! It’s chick season, and my inability to walk past a bin of mystery bantams remains unchanged. I can usually figure out what they are pretty early on, but this little gray/yellow guy is a bit different!

He/she is a funny, squat little shape- wider than it is tall, sticky outy wings, very stout feathery legs and feet. Despite its tiny size, it is a feisty little person, and not above raiding food from the mouths of the larger chicks (and then spinning in circles like a drunk bumblebee, not knowing what direction to go in).

At first I thought maybe porcelain d’uccle, but the shape and funny wings have me questioning. It moves like my Cochins (a B-52 bomber crossed with a bowling ball), but doesn’t look like my standard Cochin chicks.

What do y’all think?
