9 chicks with potential foot and nose issues

I'm glad they are doing well in spite of the foot/nose issues.

Spitz can be hard to sex from what I've seen/read. Those photos look pretty pink to me, but I only have the one, so I am no expert. Mine's comb and wattles are still not very red and she lays almost daily. That said, males usually have a lot of white on their shoulders and saddles from pics I've seen. Yours has a lot of black.

Hopefully, someone who knows more will comment. You might post a pic in the forum for breed & gender forum. You'll get more answers there, in all likelihood.

They are super cute! Even with their quirks, you are going to have a beautiful flock!

Since those toenails look like they are going to grow up and over in curves, you are going to have to keep an eye on them, and probably trim them regularly, so they don't grow around and back into the toe.
I just hope that they don’t have any blood flow. When I touched them they were pretty thin and flimsy, probably more likely to break off than to grow into the toe. We’ll definitely be keeping an eye on it though, it could break off and bleed or possibly get harder as they mature and grow into the toe.

I don’t have anything going for just the spitz but I made a gender guessing thread here:

All 11 of the little guys! 🥰

He’s a boy! 😭
It’s official. We noticed how long and white the spitz’s hackles are today, as well as little spurs starting on his legs. Still healthy as ever, no signs of anything deformed apart from his nose and toe.
They’re almost 11 weeks now.

I'm glad they are all doing well. They look great!

Now that you know your Spitz is a fella, what are your plans?
We’re keeping everyone and are either going to find older hens to add to the flock or split some off into multiple flocks to reduce strain on the girls. Lots of saddles for sure.
We only have one rooster out of six causing issues so far so we’re pretty lucky that they mostly get along. The big boss is too rough so we’re working with him and he’s separated, the second in command is very gentle while still keeping everyone in line so we’re very pleased with him. He was a companion to a very sick chick when he was little and learned how to be gentle then I think.
He’s the one poking his head up at the bottom of the last picture.

I am in a similar situation. I have 2 males and 15 females. I'm planning to either add more girls or sepatate them out to make 2 flocks. I hope mine get along like yours do once the cockerel matures!
