I knew it would happen eventually, either before they hatched or after, they are adorable and I handle him often. I want him to be friendlier than his parents and not scared of people. I cannot wait for the others to hatch. This one is going to my friend, who has been trying to hatch some with me, but we have been failing up until now.
Chickiemama did you check your eggs for movement within the last 5 days? I am sending hatching vibes to you and cassey. You also Walkswithdog where ever you may be. Oh where oh where is WWD.
Cassey, we need a better picture than that, so you need to post a dry one.
You can take him out after he is dry, unless you are like me and have to many eggs in the incubator and have to remove the chicks when they are 1/2 dry. Just make sure you have a brooder with a heat lamp ready.
Update: My peachick picks on anything smaller than him, but he is so adorable. I caught him dragging the day old around the brooder box. So I had to remove the day old and put it in with the ones that are a week old.
I had a chick hatch that was due on the 4th and I have another due on the 4th hatching now. Not 1 that is due on the 3rd has even started. I am really excited about the silkie due on the 3rd since my silkie hen disappeared.
I think I mentioned that out of 3 duck eggs I had 2 backward again. All 3 are doing great, eating, drinking and making a mess with the water.
