Who is with me?

I'll get some posted when she dries out. She's still wet and slick. Gotta agree with DH - at this point in her life, she's not the most attractive bird in the flock! But I know she'll be beautiful.

AAAAAHHHHHH she's not ugly. How cute. Walkswithdog, your babies are adorable. I need my babies to hatch. Maybe I should help them? Just joking. They still have 8 days to go.

My heat lamp went out over night and when I got up this morning, 1 of my JG was deceased. I just wanted to cry. Now I am down to having 1 JG baby and 1 Blue Andalusian baby. I have to candle and see what I will be getting for my 32 eggs that cost me $128. Oh, boy did I get a butt chewing for that one.

But I am hoping for many to hatch. I guess I will find out soon. I will let you know, maybe I will candle them now.

UPDATE

Just candled and here is what I have fertile.

Out of:
12 shipped BA eggs - 11 fertile due June 14th
6 shipped Appenzeller (?) - 2 fertile due June 14th
14 shipped Maran - 3 fertile and 2 questionable due June 14th

All of the above were sent by the same person on the same day, so what is the deal with the eggs? I truly believe she sent me some old eggs. I guess I will just purchase some Marans and Wellsummer from the hatchery.

14 shipped Red Golden Pheasant - 11 fertile due between June 12th and 14th

3 fertile duck eggs due around June 5th
3 questionable duck eggs June 23rd and 24th
13 Guinea eggs fertile - 8 due on June 5th and 5 due on the 9th
1 Peafowl - due June 15th

Geez CB that fertility rate sucks. Teach you to tell hubs what you spent... I hate it when heat lamps quit like that, makes me soooo angry. Had it happen here too before. Hugs Sorry...

Can't you get Marans shipped from closer or find someone you can drive to?

I'm buying some (GCM) in this next month... shhh ... I am NOT telling Laura, see how that works??? And the show Partridge Cochin/Partridge Rock eggs from a breeder... Yay. What Laura don't know won't hurt her or me.

I've considered Spitzhauben so I know you're sad not to have the Aps be fertile.

Figures some nassy old BA's - the ultimate survivor chickens, would be mostly going. Durn things are hard to kill. I have a love hate relationship with BAs.

Here's hoping for a good hatch hon.

I told you guys about Wilma (OEGB) making a nest on the lawn mower, etc. Anyway, she wound up with 4 cute little fluff butts. She got off her nest for good yesterday.

Soooooooo

Before I threw the leftover eggs away, I decided to candle them. Guess what.... 2 had movement. I quickly threw them in the hatcher. One of them had a pip this morning.

I can't WAIT to get home to see if it has progressed.

I know I have enough chickies, but I just couldn't throw those eggs away.

I wish the guy that sent me the pheasant eggs had chickens, that is the best shipped batch I have ever received (11 out of 14).

Walkswithdog, I did not have to tell him, it was on the paypal statement. I guess I need to get my own personal card.
