Who or what is this little chick?

Are you saying that EE males don't have eye liner? Is it a reasonable indicator? I need to go check the brooder for eyeliner!

Not just EE's, most of the wild pattern coloration chicks I have raised will have some eyeliner. But a female will have a complete liner around the eye whereas a male will only have a little eyeliner. And a female will have a more definite patch of dark color outlined in black on top of her head. This is just an observation I have made from raising hundreds of chicks. ;)

Oh dear! I think that means we picked out three cockrels and one pullet! Darn!

In just the last couple days her tail has become more pronounced. She's so vocal and she trills. My cat is very upset that he can't eat her.

In about 4 weeks I would like to put her in my aviary with my quail, but I keep reading that its a bad idea. I don't want her isolated. Any thoughts?
