You could plant them on an old wooden ladder. That is where my gram planted her clamatis. I plan my morning glories on an old brass bed head board, where my climbing roses are. I also plant them on my 3ft chain link fence around where I tie my house beagle out to. Makes his place look a little nicer, even though he don't spend alot of time tied out it's right infront of the house and I have to look at it. As well as on old steel tractor tires.
They do really well mixed with clamatis' and roses I am going to plant a purple one with an orange trumpte vine, I think the color combation will be something to see. They will fill in where you have just branches. You can truly plant them anywhere you have something for them to climb on.
