Who plants Morning Glories

HOLY COW that is a lot of Morning Glory!

You could plant them on an old wooden ladder. That is where my gram planted her clamatis. I plan my morning glories on an old brass bed head board, where my climbing roses are. I also plant them on my 3ft chain link fence around where I tie my house beagle out to. Makes his place look a little nicer, even though he don't spend alot of time tied out it's right infront of the house and I have to look at it. As well as on old steel tractor tires.

They do really well mixed with clamatis' and roses I am going to plant a purple one with an orange trumpte vine, I think the color combation will be something to see. They will fill in where you have just branches. You can truly plant them anywhere you have something for them to climb on.

I don't plant them. They grow wild here. They take over very fast. I battle all summer to keep them off my chainlink back fence. Last year I had to keep round up put out to keep it under control. There was a time when I loved it but now I can't stand it.

I just love my morning glories. I keep them trimmed and under controll...most of the time. Now, you want to talk about a pain in the hiney plant?? We have Wisteria....someone planted it here 20 + years ago, and just let it go. This sutff is NUTS! All the way into the top of the trees...getting on electric lines...vines vines vines!! And, you can't kill this stuff! It TERRIBLE!

They are one of my favourites. My chickens eat the seeds every fall, & I've never had a problem. I'm guessing they are mildly toxic at best, & the chooks would need to eat a lot of them. Or my birds are immune to them.

I believe I would be amazed if something grew here....besides water bugs, green frogs, & crickets...(like you've never seen), grasshoppers by the tonage, and ladybugs, stinkbugs...oh bugs do indeed grow here in Egypt!

I can't get trees, bushes, plants, or flowers to grow...I battle the garden....just bought a few strawberry plants...going to do my very best with them...
I need something for shade for the chickens....morning glories may be my answer!!

When I bought my house, there was an ugly composter made out of old pallets in my backyard. Though I believe in composting, I just thought that the setup was ugly so I planted morning glory seeds around it as a cover. They came back every year. I tore the composter out about 5 years ago and the morning glory seeds still re-seed and grow along part of my chain link fence.

They are everywhere at my grandmas! Pinks, blues, purples, whites, all over. They grow all over my pigeon cage and all over the fence. They are really pretty, but my grandma encourages me NOT to take the seeds and throw them all over.
