Who says chickens can't fly?

    I have found that smaller chickens fly well. The heavy weights don't seem as prone to flying.

    Hi there! Chickens certainly DO FLY! Mine do all the time!!!!! Luckily they don't seem to want to fly away so I don't cut their wing feathers. If you have escapees you will have to (on one wing only). Look it up in the"search" section on this site as you have to be careful just where you cut. Good luck with yours. I love to see them fly after my cat if she has got too close to them. She rushes off to hide in the house as they whizz after her!!!!

    2manyhats, I've got Dorkings who fly all the time and the roos are pretty heavy!!! I was watching them doing it just now. I agree a Jersey Giant might find it a bit difficult!
