who wants to join me setting eggs september 9th.

absolutely the more the merrier also i though i would ask what type of incubators everyone is using and prefers i have a still air and this is our second hatch. so glad i invested in another digitial thermometer and hygrometer cause the thermometer it came with is obviously not accurate which i was worried about so now im thinking probably wht happened last time is when i had a temp spike that read 102 it was way higher resulting in dead embryos boo hoo

and luck to all of you. also who else will be candleing friday i like to candle about 3 or four times during the incubation sometimes more if im unsure on one. neway ill post when i do gonna be a hard couple days i can hardly wait til the first candleing.

I have a homemade incubator that I have yet to use because one of my girls keeps going broody at just the right times. I love having a broody hatch my eggs for me though, it takes all the work out of it for me!

I took her golf balls away today and gave her 8 olive egger eggs. Can't wait to see what I get in 21 days!

I'm using an incubator that I made too. I used a small styrofoam cooler, cut out a part of it and duct taped a piece of glass from a dollar store picture frame on it and got a light kit and thermometer/hydrometer from Lowes. I have a little Sizzle that keeps teasing me about going broody but so far it hasn't stuck.

i have 18 sebright eggs in a Farm innovator 4200 with an automatic egg turner. i also have a Farm innovator 2100 (using it as a hatcher). the difference between the two: the 4200 has a hard plastic outer shell and the 2100 doesnt (it is styrofoam). both have a built in hydrometer (which i LOVE) and both have a built in thermometer (which i think is inaccurate). but over all it holds the temp very well.
