The postal lady called to inform me that my eggs arrived...late... and in the BOTTOM of a parcel bag. She said they also stunk and were in a garbage bag, and were probably smashed. Well, actually, she said "I think you have scrambled eggs."

Hm. That can't be good. I'm pretty sure I am not going to like what I find in here.

Oh. Well there you go. Apparently that is why the live animals are not supposed to be thrown in the parcel bag (or anywhere else, for that matter. It did say "fragile" after all!!
Let's see what I can salvage.....

Two slate turkeys, two call ducks, and three pekins.... GONE.

This is what I salvaged, but I don't know what is gonna happen with them. It could feasibly go either way.

The sad part is that these were actually well-packaged eggs. Imagine if they had not been packed so well.

Just curious, does the post office do anything for you when this happens? Can a claim be filed? I think you almost have to assume the yolks in the surviving eggs are scramble in the shell. I would have been flipping out. Sorry that happened to your eggs. That's a shame.

I will have to call them tomorrow. I didn't get this package until a few minutes before closing time and only then because she called me. I don't know if they will do anything at all. The last two packages (not eggs) that came in smashed to pieces they just told me oh well, should have gotten insurance.

That's so messed up someone at the post office has a very good job but when it counts they didn't do a good job poor little babies but its happen to you before try a different post office

Unfortunately, there is no other post office. I live on an island and everything has to come through the juneau sort facility.

Uggggghhhh that's AWFUL. I received a box of 15 eggs purchased on eBay, and the box looked like USPS had kicked it all the way from Florida to Arizona! It was very well marked as being FRAGILE and containing eggs. None of the eggs were broken, but very few of them (only 3 or 4) are developing. I understand that USPS is expecting more and more from their employees (just like every employer) and it's probably not a great place to work right now, but if they keep destroying people's packages, then no one will CARE if they go out of business (except I have a bunch of forever stamps)...
