whole apple's for treats

I did'nt even give it a second thought when I did it! I threw 2 apples my kids did'nt finish out in the yard for the chicks to have. I did'nt think about the seeds.. are they able to digest the seeds? They get chick grit, so I'm hoping they'll be ok. They would'nt eat the apple skin. It was odd.. those apples looked like a deflated balloon! I just hope I haven't messed up!

Don't give the seeds of apples, they are poisonous. They will probably be okay with just a few but don't make it a habit.

I have given my birds apples with no problems. plus they eat the apples that fall off my two apple trees.

Apples are OK. Lots of seeds would not be a great idea (tiny amount of arsenic I think).
I give mine apples, and in the summer my neighbor throws apples into my yard for the chickens.

Imp- the wormier the better
