Whole flock dead!

if it is coyotes.. they will be back... The rooster died first lkely because he is the first line of defense... the rest was easy... He lkely put up a good fight...

Two dead roosters. 1 in the coop, his head pulled through the fence, his body 4ft away. other roo is headless outside the enclosed run. He's too fat to fit through on his own..
most of the RIR pullets, little birds, gone and some other young juvies.

A person would kill the unwanted roos and dig the hole to cover up what they have done, make it look like an animal. How would any other animals carry all the chickens out ... over a fence and through a hole? I would think human!

There are pulled feathers around in piles. 2 of white feathers, then on the other side closer to the driveway, black/white feathers from my bared rock bantie roo

the pulling through sounds like raccoons... that is why I say look around... Look in the trees... The others may have just escaped and are lurking...the males are the first line of defense so they are stillthere... They fought whatever it way... check them for hair.. possibly they got a piece of the preditor..

got pix??? I hate to be morbid but understanding what you saw may be helpful.. It doesn't sound like a human to me... I still say look around... I hope some turn up...

follow the trail and look for footprints... Photograph.... If there were that many roos gone... THen tomarrow morning if there are any left alive something will crow...I am sending out good vibes your way... Racoons kill relentlessly and dogs do too... but coyotes take em with em...

You say there are 12 left... why... were they out as well??? Check them over for signs of struggle, particularly under the wings... (bite holes). If they are injured you may still have some losses to incure...

Unless you live in an area with cruel kids! Maybe it was a coon. They will climb a fence, dig a hole, and are really bad. You better lock what you have left up tonight. They will be back..... I caught a coon in the yard the other night, actually the dogs caught it. The coon was over the fence before the dogs could get to it, thank goodness! Anyway the coon went up a tree and I tormented it by throwing rocks and sticks and let the dogs bark for an hour or so. Well it didn't detour the little SOB! It was back the nest night. I am gonna need a trap.

21 or 22 birds left. Found another dead young bird far off. No other signs of any birds anywhere.
The bared rock was de-feathered all over the place...must of been bald in the end.

On the positive side...I saved Broody #2's new born chick, she managed to fall through a hole in the barn[at the renter house]. Got a flashlight and grilling tongs and pulled her up and out. They are now in the garage with other youngsters. So glad I didn't move momma and chicks to the other coop...
A lot of the little chicks were fathered by the now deceased bared rock bantie.
