Whoo Hoo!!!!!!!!! Finally got some eggs

So, they are getting a bit "frisky" now. At least 1 male anyway (I saw them from my kitchen window today).

I'm in Covington, about 30-45 min. to Atlanta.

Today I had 1 egg. I moved their house yesterday so it is behind the shed where less wind will blow on them through the winter, and it gives them more areas with sun. There were no eggs yesterday and only 1 today but I think its because the nights have been a bit more chilly.
I'm in Dallas, so I'm on the other side of Atlanta from you!
The nights have been chilly the last 2 weeks.
I'm only getting 1 egg a day. (2 hens)

You asked about an incubator - I started with a Havo-bator and moved to a cabinet (Dickey 2X2) have completed 4 hatches with 90% success overall (my NHR chickens) - getting ready for the spring I have Geese - Pekins - Muscovy. Can't wait!

My Pekins are 19 weeks old - I have seen them getting busy in the pool but no eggs as of yet - I am concerned that the chickens run with the ducks and they may just eat the duck eggs when they are layed and I will never know - anyone else have the same situation?

My pekins didnt start laying until 20 &21wks.They are in the run with my chickens and they havent bothered any eggs laid in the coop or run.

Never heard of them eating each other's eggs. Hope you see some eggs soon. My eggs look so much like chicken's I'm not sure I could tell the difference if I had both housed together.

Thank you for the replies - My ducks and chickens are all housed seperately, but share the same fenced in pasture. I have read that you should keep ducks looked up until around 10am so they lay in the house - I have to let everyone out at 7am so I can go to work. Not sure how this will work until I start getting eggs - They will more than likely be all over the pasture

update - found 6 eggs this morning ! 2 next to their pool and 4 in their house. The Pekins are 19 weeks old - I am thinking of taken the two largest and putting them in the incubator to see if they are fertile

Love getting those first eggs! I have a pair of Pekins. They have their own fenced off area to run, because the drake started trying to mount the chickens... I let them out of the duck house at around 7:30 everyday and she's usually laid her egg by then.
