Im with yah K! Mark unhooked the hose this past week:-( That marks a very sad day for me in my house-400ft of hose just sitting there:-( I have 5 5 gallon jugs we rotate everyday-I "think" I should be ok with my set up now all though I know I need 3-4 more heated waters for the other little coops-no outside waters cause all would freeze within hours:-(

The weather has been pretty mild here in the middle NC, but last night dipped to 27 so the water I forgot to take in was frozen. A couple more nights of this and then we get above freezing again

Even had hubby make me one of those cookie tin water heaters but I forgot to use it.

me me me! and in Arkansas too! But it's not all frozen solid yet, just a layer on top, once it's broken they can drink from it. I think if I moved the buckets into the morning sun it would help....

Oh, it's been down to 0 F a couple nights here already, which is colder than it usually gets all winter. I think we're in for a long cold one, but I ran an extension cord and put in a trough heater, so no ice busting for me - I don't think there would have been any liquid water anyway, just a solid hunk of ice at those temps.

We've been removing about a 1" layer of ice from the waterers for the last several nights. It's been COLD!! (Yes, some parts of SoCal get really cold and even get snow!

). DH is looking into getting a pond deicer for the waterers, so we don't have to go out there at the crack of dawn to remove it.
