Who's hatching 6/10 also broodys due 5/27 hatching, 6/3, 6/5,

I am so sorry Vfem, that is so sad!

I ended up with 3 out of 6 hatching, 2 BA mixes and one White crested black polish. My broody hopped off the nest yesterday and made it clear to me she wanted to do the "new chickie march". I tossed the last 3 eggs into my incubator but so far nothing.

Out of the eggs from my first 2 broodies I ended up with 7 chicks out of 22 eggs...keep in mind though that these are the eggs that sat in an inch of water for a day during our terrible storms...I think it's amazing any of them hatched! I got 4 frizzles, a Silver Marans, a Butterscotch booted bantam, and a barred rock. My 3rd broody is due this weekend!

Its ok... I buried her in the yard.... the rest have a new mama now who came and picked them up last night.

Guess I'm just waiting for another broody now.

I hatched 8 out of 9 eggs last night from an incubator. I set 3 EE's and 6 Cuckoo Marans, only 1 cuckoo maran didn't hatch. But that one might have been infertile, I couldn't see through the shell when I candled.

Finale results of my eggs in incubator hatch date 6/10.
12 shipped blrw eggs 8 chicks hatched, 1 was rotten, 1 died before piping, 2 were quitters at about day 17.
9 of my welsummer eggs 6 chicks hatched, 1 died before piping 2 were quitters at day 17.
At day 17 the elect was off for about 45 mins, the bator temp dropped to 86 deg, after the elect came back on the temp came back up in about 10 min.
I think this is what got my 4 eggs.

Don chickensandmore hatched some of my eggs I picked up 26 chicks from him.

I have broodys popping up every day:barnie

I set broody hen # 7 last night with 18 of my eggs welsummer x barred rock hatch date 7-3.
I have 3 more broodys

Well, I'm down to 7 living chicks, I lost my first chick today. She was a black giant cochin chick, had pasty butt that I kept clean, but was having trouble breathing. She went so quickly, I was on here looking up things to try...

. The others are okay, so far.

And one of the little buggers CROWED! 5 days old!! Sounded like a cell phone trill.

I know one of the 2 Welsummers is a boy from the markings. And a large Birchen chick I also suspect is a boy. Sigh. I may end up with only 4 hens!

I'm pretty bummed. I'll be hatching quail now, and I guess I'll just wait until next Spring for trying again at hatching chicks...
