Today is day 5 for mine, I candled and have 16/18 viable, one blood ring, and one that I'm pretty sure is dead but will give it another couple days. 100% fertility!!

Just put my eggs on-- some Cayuga duck eggs from Boggy Bottom Bantams.

I had to look up the info-- but I was a little shocked, it said: Incubation for the eggs is 28 days. When using an incubator the temperature should be 99.5 °F at 86% humidity for days 1-25, and 98.5 °F at 94% humidity for days 26-28.

I just have a generic incubator -- I have actually hatched Pekin and cochin eggs together (duck and chicken)... just following the chicken guidelines and had a 100% hatch rate with the duck eggs. I'm assuming that pekin eggs are pretty similar, maybe I should look it up.. and now I'm really wondering if I should get a hygrometer --- I've only filled the one little panel with water, wondering if I should fill the other as well??? Ack!

Either way you should still have a hygrometer

But don't listen to that, if you are getting 100% hatches doing it your way, why change it?

one of the eggs is pipped! This is so nerve wracking. I can't wait to see what color the ducklings are. They are silky ducks and might be either mallard colored, white or black.

LilRalphieRoosMama.....might I suggest you put an old fuzzy stuffed animal in there with your ducklings. Mine always love to snuggle into one.

I can't wait anymore - this is driving me crazy! I still have 10 days before my first hatch.
