Who's Hatching Ducks? Hatch With Us!! *Page 3*

I have 8 muscovies from Ugly Ducky that will finally reach day 31 Thursday! All 8 are developing nicely! I even have one that I thought was infertile when I first candled, and I chipped a hole over the air sac only to see faint little blood vessels. I think that was about day 7. Anyway, I taped it closed with thick clear tape, and it seems to be developing just fine! I just had 30 of 34 chicks hatch that still looked good at this stage, so I am hoping for another success!

I take duckies out after hatch, and I take chickies out after hatch - I am not even opening this goose until I see feathers.

I so want it to come out ok!!!

No new action this morning, same old pip, but still rocking like crazy.

Rock on, little goose.

KEEP GOING!! YAY! Geese are SO sweet! I put mine out on the grass today and in a plastic kiddie pool for their first swim, same with my nine week-old duckies since the temps felt like I was living on the sun today...I figured it was warm enough

It was SO funny!! The ducks kept diving under the water through the legs of the geese and it scared the geese so they peeped to get out...and then they happily unched on the grass that desperatley needs cut

The duckies were done after about 30 minutes of splashing and diving and splashing and playing and splashing....which I didn't mind since it was 374 degrees today.

I think centex is like living on the sun...I think I will go on vacation for august and september

If they are due the 29th, you should stop turning them the evening of the 26th. 3 days before they are due, just like everything else

What kind of ducks are you hatching?

I have muscovies, blue and buff american geese, and some of my ducks' eggs in the bator

One lavender and one embden. I just got home from a 16 hour farm inspection on the Eastern Plains and my camera is still in the car so I will post pics tomorrow.

AND - all 5 lavender/blues from my next hatch are internally pipped plus one lonely pilgrim that made it to the end.

That pilgrim should be out in two days I suspect, the others are a little farther behind, but not by much.

I don't want to get my hopes up - but it appears that my desire for blue geese will be fulfilled.

I know its a duck thread but I have three new goslings tonight so I just need to share with someone. So far I can tell its a Pomeranian (poor little thing is fluffy already but totally bald-I've never seen that before), a female Pilgrim (yay), and I can't find the writing on the other eggshell so I'm not too certain until the baby dries better and fluffs. I know the incubator shouldn't have been opened yet but it was soooo crowded with all those chicks stepping on them!!

(Don't listen to me - I'll corrupt every one of you!)

BTW - I don't know if this little lonely Pilgrim is from you or raindrop, but I'm happy one made it! They must be hard to hatch.

What a great thread! I have duck and goose eggs coming, so will have to get back to this once I get them into the incubator.
