Who's Hatching Ducks? Hatch With Us!! *Page 3*

Quote:
I would slowly and carefully scratch o small hole in the air-sac end to see it maybe he needs help...I had a couple ducks who grew too big for their sheel!! They had very small air sacks...but it wasn't because of low humidity...their bodies took up the space!

Take care not to break the membranes, either of them. You will be able to see movement and provide air flow. If it is too early, fold a wet papertowel over the opening to keep it moist.

It is best if they pip at least the membrane on their own...they have less chance of hitting a blood vessel than we do!

Good luck!

It is official

He exploded today and I have no idea what those scratching noises were I heard, but he wasnt even formed. I am having no luck. He is the third one to do that and being its my first time I probably have so many things I am doing wrong. I'm so sad... I feel like just giving up:th. I don't know that I can handle losing the other 4

1 call duck pipped. None of the others made it. My first time and it is not out of the shell yet but I see some blood. is this normal? I want the baby to survive soooo bad. I had 15 shipped eggs and this is the only one I have left. I have 3 day old baby chicks so it will not be alone.

6 days or so I had gotten them from under the mother.( a lady owns a petting zoo and gave them to me) they are all mallards. But i dont have an incubator, and dont have the supplies needed to make one, i dont think at least.

Im so bummed I just dont know what to do. All I want is one pet duck and to call him squishy and I'm starting to think it will never happen

I am bummed for you too. I am really worried right now about the blood on my call duck. Do you think a membrane broke and is this life threatening?
