Who's Hatching Ducks? Hatch With Us!! *Page 3*

Now is when you need to make sure the vents are open! I would go ahead and stop turning and up the humidity, even if it's not ready to hatch, it won't hurt them.

It can be days! Someone on another thread likened it to watching paint dry. Patience is required to mentally survive the hatching of geese.

Ok, thanks everybody!
I thought my ducks hatching were like watching paint dry, LOL.
I actually have two pipped now, actually good deep pips and a couple of them on each egg.
The first one I heard peeping still hasn't done anything, but is still peeping.

This is a new one on me....I have a runner duck egg that was added by itself to an incubator as a last minute thought, thinking because of its age, it would not survive.

Today is day 30 and it has not pipped, but upon candling, you see movement. The incubator remained rock solid at 99.5. What is the latest you've seen a duck egg pip?

Maybe I see a little paint brush in the egg with him? What? Is he painting the inside of his shell?

I believe I have read that runners take 29 days to hatch? But if it was 'older' to start with, that itself would make it take longer. I read on here somewhere that for every day older the egg is, it takes something like an hour longer to hatch? Something like that, but I'm not sure. So it isn't really that late yet, just give it a while longer!

OMG I have a gosling out already! That was fast.
Another one on the way.
The third still hasn't pipped yet. It is still softly tapping against the shell. I am a little worried as it has been two days since it internally pipped. I am going to leave it alone until tonight and the maybe I should help it get started???

I wish it was like watching paint dry. At least with that you KNOW it WILL dry.
I'm afraid these delicate (hard to hatch) little duckies won't make it!
