who's hatching may 4

i have 8 out 2 more pipped and slowly starting to zip.I think this will be it 10 total count.8 are doing nothing.The blue cochins from sharon are beautiful too.

2nd batch out of 15 so far 3 have hatched and 1 still at the stage of pipping. has pipping justaround the same time the first ones were doing and nothing is going on with him. i learned not to help them anymore. so hate to say if the chick dont come out on its own it will be there forever. i would rather lose fromt he egg way and not even see the chick and then lose it. it hurts more.

Had to take the 2 hatchlings out as one of them hatched on Saturday and needed to get to some water today. I managed to get them out quickly and replaced the sponge with another warm wet one. Humidity didn't seem to suffer too much...I don't live in a dry climate so that helps.

One of the pipped ones looks like it is starting to zip, but it's a real lazy little chickie!

3 hatched. The new one looks like a chipmunk and hatched out of a small pinkish egg.

1 is significantly pipped..on it's way to zipping.

other 5 are doing nothing.

Day 21

TG the last chick has hatched and 1 rouen duck another duck with a pip and 7 more ducks due in 2 days.

This is the 2nd chick that hatched. The kids have named it Goldie (short for Goldilocks).

And this is the first chick that hatched. The kids have named this one Beebee.

I might be?? I don't know when my broody started sitting, but from candling I would guess her eggs were on day 3 or four when I found her. That would put them hatching on the 4th or 5th. I haven;t seen any pips today so maybe it will be tomorrow!! Such suspense!
