Who's Setting Eggs This Week[end]? [August 8-14]

I had a panic attack. I was warming up the bator and making sure it works. I bumped the temp up to dial it in and left for work. When I got home, the temp was at 80! After freaking out for a few hours trying to figure out what went wrong, my husband chimes in, "oh, i turned it down after you left since there are no eggs yet. was that wrong?" So now the bator is in the spare room with a sign threating dismemberment for all who enter.

HaHaHa...I have "DO NOT TOUCH" signs on the doors to the room, on the incubator itself and on the house thermostat.

I could be wrong, but that does not look like a good packing job. Eggs should have been wrapped in bubble wrap individually at the least. Looks like they were wrapped in paper towels? I had this happen also. The eggs were wrapped in paper towels side by side in a hard styrofoam box but the paper towels did not keep the eggs from hitting together and all were broken but one. The seller was nice enough to offer a refund or more eggs when I sent pictures of the mess.

I'm sorry for you

I know how this feels! What kind of eggs were they?
I haven't spoken to the seller but the listing was pretty clear that she wasn't responsible for the post office. I can't afford to replace the eggs either so I'm totally crushed right now.

Okay my eggs are due in tomorrow and after seeing these pictures and the ones from the last thread I am having horrible thoughts and visions of what my package will look like.

I did call the post office and they are going to call me when they are sorted and then hold the box there for me so I can pick it up rather than going out with the deliveries. I figure my car is a much smoother ride than the postal one and I'll get them much earlier too.
One thing I have already learned from this is if I ever decide to ship eggs they will not go out like the ones in the pictures! Bubble wrap, egg carton, padding inside a box and then placed in another box with lots of padding.

yeah, but if she packed them correctly, you should not have had that many break.. not from the size dent there was. I am going to send you a PM...

English Orpintons are pretty! Darn! Those eggs should have been packaged better!

I would suggest a refund instead of more eggs if she is going to pack like that! I know someone here in California who has super nice imported English Orpingtons if you want to try someone else if you get a refund. His name is Jeremy here on BYC. https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/jeremys-page

I'm just bummed that I paid $70 for them. I'll have to wait another month or so until I can put some more funds together.

The seller hasn't offered me anything in the way of a refund or even replacement eggs, if she thinks I'm leaving positive feedback, she's out of her mind :/ I'm hoping that the USPS comes up with a refund for me.
