Who's Setting Eggs This Week[end]? [August 8-14]

So good news this morning 24 of my silkie eggs have veining and 8 are infertile as of now and what i can tell. I moved the ones i thought are infertile to another side of the bator in case they are slow starters but i am happy that at least 24 are cooking good whoo hoo and right on schedule so the new bator is doing good so far.

I have always wanted to try some phoenix, but I have never found any close and I'm to scared to do the mail order thing. You will have to let me know how they turn out for you, they are such beautiful birds.

I candled mine last night with a new brighter flashlight, complements of my teenage son.

I can see veins before day 10 on brown eggs

.

I did notice that 2 eggs, the air sac moved around and there was also bubbles. First for me...so does that mean they will not make it?

I would definitely give them a fighting chance. Don't remove them until they stink, in my opinion. And if you can, write notes about which ones had possible problems, then you can know for next time. Remember this is all a learning experience, so be sure you are taking notes. :)

Got 10 eggs in the bator.
Today is day 4 and I see veining in the 5 lightest colored eggs.
Don't know what's up with the others but I think I need to treat myself to a new candler too.
Isn't it lovely to be able to see thru the darker eggs finally?!
I imagine it's like putting on a fresh pair of x-ray vision glasses or something!

Candling is going well. Looks like the original 12 are all viable (one very wiggly inside) and there may be one of my neighbor's pocket chicken eggs viable. Not too sure about the little ones. Lockdown next Tuesday!!!
