Not this hatch but in spring I had one explode. No smells that I could smell even after it exploded. Just suddenly went POP and egg shell went everywhere. It scared me so much. I thought it was the lightbulb at first.

Really? No smell? Did it smell after it exploded? Thats weird...

I didn't plan on washing any of them... But I was a bit concerned so I did a quick candling of them and found four that I couldn't see veining, one of those is my double yolker... I thought I smelled a faint smell coming from a green egg I didn't see veining in but then I didn't.. I don't know if I should just take them out just to be safe or leave them for another day and candle again... I was gonna take the green one out but put it back.. i don't know what to do? All I see in them is dark centers and in a could a foot or wing or something like that. I candled the green one a little more and I really didn't see anything but the chick in there...

With ones like that, I take them and move them to the side of the incubator, just a bit away from the others and then candle again. You don't want to risk breaking into an egg with a perfectly healthy chick and sometimes they can fool you. If they don't smell too bad, just something real faint, odds are that it will not explode in you leave it in for another day or 2 so you might as well wait and be sure. Rotten eggs before they explode look like a consistent dark color that fills the entire egg when candled, like a fully developed chick, you see nothing. So I assume it wasn't to that point when you candled.

No, it's sorta clear-ish except where the chick and yolk it. I have the 4 separated to one corner of the incubator away from the rest and have my fingers crossed they are ok

I don't totally understand what you are saying, can you clarify? I only washed them because one exploded and they became full of egg junk. If you remove a rotten egg before it explodes, the bacteria shouldn't be out and about the incubator anymore than it would be else where, bacteria is everywhere, in the air we breathe so I don't see the point of all this work if you remove the egg in time. And I have experimented with the whole washing eggs thing. With my personal experience, I found that I get better hatches when I do wash them from the begining. In fact, of the shipped eggs I reiceived (unwashed) I decided that 2 of them were bad enough to need to be washed even though I hadn't planned on it. And of course one of them is one of the only 2 that hasn't been invaded with bacteria. To wash you should use water warmer than the egg and gently wipe it down, don't submerge it for any longer than 30 seconds and don't srub to hard, just enough to get all of the crap off and for it to look clean. I know this is a debated issue, but that is just my personal experience. Some poeple even use Clorox wipes for the eggs to disinfect the eggs and incubator.

There is more bacteria in an incubator that has had a bad egg then there is anywhere else. Otherwise you wouldn't smell it even after removal, But you can for a few minutes to sometimes even an hour later depending how horrible the egg was, if it was leaking goo. or whatever. If you remove and shut the incubator real fast (at least with my experience) ALL the eggs end up going bad.

Yeah I had one that had no smell then exploded, and no it didn't smell funky after it exploded. Just made a big mess.

I don't mean to agrue, but the bad smell isn't bacteria, it's hydrogen sulphide. When the bacteria breaks down the eggs contents it forms hydrogen sulphide gas. This gas builds up until the pressure is too great for the egg shell to take which causes it to explode. And everyone says that hydrogen sulphide smells rotten eggs, well thats is what the gas smells like and it's known commonly for it's build up in rotten eggs. So that horrilbe smell is simply the gas.
