Who's Starting the 3-Day-Wait Today?

I just had 2 more pip as I was sitting there watching but their beaks aren't fully out and now they're not moving. I hope they're okay. One was my only Polish egg.

My eggs are due to hatch on Friday also, never bothered mine opening it to turn them. I actually turn all of my eggs until they start to peep through. I have always had about a 95% hatch rate or more. Never heard of letting them just sit the last 3 days, a mother hen will turn them until they are all hatched out.

chicksgalore they are absorbing yolk and blood and resting and finishing growing. It can take 24 hours to start to zip. They have to rest and absorbed before they zip

I am amazed! I have a pip! I may get a chick this time after all

It must be all of the positive vibes, the bator has finally held steady for the first time the past 24 hours....

I actually have 2 of my own OEGB with the 5 Bantam Cochin Frizzle. And it is one of the OEGB that is pipping!
I dont know if I can sleep! But I have to, I've got to work tomorrow. I cant stand it!
Thanks for the positive thoughts, Im certain it's helping these babies this time!

Thank you, Jamie821--for putting my mind to rest again!! I have been watching them and watching them...

I have maybe 6 now that have "cracked" the shell. I say cracked because most of them have done just that--you can see a crack but they haven't actually poked through and knocked a piece of it off yet so you can't' see their beak. Also, a lot of them are poking straight up. I've seen some of them moving since then but nobody's made any progress!! I can still see only 1 beak and although I can see it's alive, it's not doing anything!!!

Going green sucks. I just went to set up an infant brooder and I have not a single incandescent bulb...LOL Sigh, the price of good intentions. I have three BA mutts in my shirt...

I have had them take what seems like forever - 24-36 hours, to go from a crack to finally slowly pipping a piece at a time, then completely zipping - they go a chip here and there -very slow going.
I prefer the fast pip, zip, hatch! Hang in there!
