Who's Starting the 3-Day-Wait Today?

Today was my 18th day. I have put my eggs in a egg carton cut down for hatching. My temp is holding at 100.9 and humidity is 68% I have a LG still air filled all the wells and added a sponge. Have the sponge placed so I can run a straw through a vent hole to add water to wells and sponge. 3 eggs are on day 18 and 3 are on day 16. I was told that being 2 days behind wouldn't hurt. So we shall see. I am sure they may take longer to hatch then the 1st 3 that are due on sat. So far so good!

I think I am now officially worried. I know that I shouldn't completely give up. But tomorrow morning will be day 23 for 4 of the eggs in the bator. I am starting to think that maybe I shouldn't expect anything when I look in in the morning.

I have a chick! 1 OEGB!

And I had them in a little carton, and I was hearing peeps, so I HAD to see what was up? Sure enough - two of them were pipping upside down.

I took out the little carton for all of them, checked em quick (no movement in the other 4) and set these two down....chirping away coming out the wrong ends? Weirdos. Who knows if they'll make it now.

for everyones hatches - and for these two bitties.

Its 12/14 now; I can't see the other two because of the picture window but I hope they're pipped too.
tfpets-I'll be posting pics Friday! I'll put the link here when I get them up. I'm so excited. I was so worried about them because humidity was low a few days.

congrats on the fuzzy butts . I have good news after the thermostat going out and temp down to 78 for up to six hours they are hatching. So far 5 are out and 7 more pipped. I have only two that I cant tell anything with yet. I cant believe shipped eggs and all they went through last night they are coming on tough.

We have 10 babies sleeping in the bator right now. Another one has a big hole in the egg and at least one more has a pip. It's hard to see in there right now with all the babies and broken shells.

tfpets, I had several pip at the wrong end of the shell and they made it out just fine.

I had a bit of a scare last night--my temp kept fluctuating really bad all the sudden--it was actually dropping down to 95 when one of the chicks would get against the sensor but later when a few were hatching all at once and the bator got really steamed up with humidity, the whole hygrometer went out. My DH said the humidity got too high and wiped the board out, so I opened the bator several times till I figured out what was going on. I now have a trusty mercury thermometer in there but I had to take my hygrometer out so I don't know what the humidity is. I'm just judging by the moisture on the windows that it's still pretty good.

I hope your babies are good! I think as long as they dont drown, they like a teeny sauna at the end...better than a shrink wrap.
I gave my only Bantam Frizzle a bit of a nudge this morning, seems to be dong okay...better and better all the time! So I have 2 OEGB's and 1 drying Bantam Cochin Frizzle - all good til the 28th day for my call ducks! Thats next week, April 1st, I think. Hmmm, April Fools hatch for Call Ducks..Oh No?

And Suess Hens - you are a better person than me. I would have opened it already and performed an egg-xamination. Ewwww but I gotta see inside at least one....after the 21st day.....its just too hard not to know whats going on. I hatched a chick that way before. Bad JuJu, but I have no will power, I'm a bad influence that way.

Thanks for all the support, I hope I can get a pic, I gotta work AGAIN. One baby has to stay in the bator all day, the others are in their cozy brooder today!
