Who's starting today???UPDATE, Day 9 big bummer.

Not much is going on with the Pheasant eggs. It was a toss up with them anyway. My Guineas layed in the nest w/the Pheasant eggs. I wasnt sure how old the eggs were or even if they were fertile. They are so dark colored that I couldnt candle them. Another day or two and I will know for sure.

Is it 25 days for Pheasants?

BOy seems like lots setting eggs this week. I set some a few days ago...(6 blue orp/splash orp mix) and I have a dozen (8 serama, 3 silver laced polish, and one fresh out of the butt golden phoenix egg) Can't wait! They will be here by Sat for sure.

OMG!

My pheasant's are piping.

Well, the incubator is running great. Day 2-3, I set them Tuesday afternoon so I guess today would be day 2? Anyways, 19 more to go. Woohoo

I have 31 serama eggs in incubator as of this past Monday. I had to leave town immediately after setting them leaving my incubator in care of DW who is interested but not involved in my projects. She called me to tell me temp had spiked for a few hours Tuesday night; following instructions she tried to keep regulated but not as successfully as I would have liked.:aww

I just finished a very success hatch with a 90% hatch of my own eggs of bantam and button quail last week so I am a little frustrated at myself at this point with these eggs but we"ll see what happens. I so want at least a few serama. Guess it'll seem forever til July 5/6. Wish me happy setting!!

Gessieviolet,

My buttons hatched even though they spiked to 105 several times. And some days in the morning it would down to 93. I just knew they would not hatch! But of course I waited and they all hatched right on time, healthy and normal.

I had borrowed an incubator with the wafer thermostat, an old TurnX 4, not realizing how sensitive they are to external temperatures. Next time I will use heat sinks if I have to borrow it again.

My other two incubators held steady and the hatch rate for them was much lower, in the 50% range, though that was due to unfertilized eggs I believe.

Don't give up hope!

Jaybme
