Are you feeding layer pellets? If so I would advise taking them off and switching feeds. Those pullets not at POL might suffer from delayed development.

I didn't think I got a picture of the other SLW hen, but I found one with both.

I have never went by wattles, can you tell a difference between the color of these two?

My plan was to wait until I started to get normal eggs, then measure pin bones.

The Wyandotte on the right is definitely laying.
The one on the left is close, but not quite there.

I'm mostly just curious, I don't care either way. Just wasn't expecting a darker egg from those breeds.

Yes I have two SLW roosters in there too, and a Barred Rooster. Those were probably the ones you were seeing.

I believe we were both discussing the young'uns.
The egg you have there isn't all that dark. Pretty normal.

My guess is that the Wyandotte laid it.

Usually, Wyandottes lay a lighter egg, but with it being smaller as it is the pigment may be more concentrated.

I think the one on the left here may be a cockerel. The hackle feathers look rather pointed.
