Whose Got Rare Breeds?

I have La Fleche. Well, I did have a trio and then my cockerel died.

Here's a picture of him a few week before he died.

I've got to get pictures of my La Fleche girls sometime.

Those Buckeyes look like chocolate Rhode Islands, so pretty! All of these rare birds are pretty!

Carole - how tall are the Orloffs. They look tall with those long feathered necks!

Mdbucks - What are all those chickens in the bottom picture? Are they all yours? The buffish ones on the right look like a rare breed I was interested in finding.

I have Denizli and Tomaru (Longcrowers)... those are the rarest ones that I raise. I also have longtails. Most are mixed, but have Sumatra, Yokohama, and/or Phoenix in them.

I am working on breeding Longcrowing Longtail chickens.
My Denizli and Tomaru roosters are just starting to crow (they are only about 4 or 5 seconds right now, but will get much longer.)

You can see an F1 {Denizli X Ohiki} on this youtube link. I currently have a rooster from this one and a Sumatra hen that has much better feathering and about the same crow. But still has the really short legs.

You can find videos of pure Denizli crowing on youtube as well.

Enjoy!

Didn't even think about those they are golden Campines.

I have 7 Dominique hens, they are supposed to be the oldest American breed, nearly wiped out at one time I read. Very beautiful and sleek, the black barring is so dark it's nearly blue looking, shiny and fat. Extremely talkative bunch too and mine are super spoiled and friendly. I think Wolfpacker has some too that must be about the same age as mine since we both recently started getting eggs. I'm sure he would say they are a super breed as well. I will let mine out later today and take some pics. Darlene

Our partner has Pyncheon and Tournaisis - both very rare in the US. We are working together to advance breed knowledge on these two groups and get them better populated again.

Also tufted, rumpless standard Araucana (not as rare, but difficult to get good stock if you're interested in breeding them to preserve the breed).

We will start working on lavender Orpington, which are not common here in the US either.
