Whose Got Rare Breeds?

I have Slamon Favorolle (not real rare), Buttercups, and Jersey Giants. In the spring I will be getting Fayoumi and Chanteclers. I also raise Welsh Harlequin Ducks and hope to add a rare breed Goose this spring.

New to this forum today..11/25/07 Hello everyone. I live in NW Indiana and have Javas, 4 black hens and a white roo. He was hatched here from one of the 5 girls and a black roo.
If anyone near me has Javas, I would like to buy or trade.

I have Dominiques, Buttercups, and golden Lakenvelders. This is the first year I've had Domininques, and have fallen in love with them. They are some of the friendliest chickens I've ever had and so far have done a good job of laying eggs.

I have Blue Laced Red Wyandottes and Blue Jerseys. Both are colors that were introduced sometime in the 1980's. BLRW are a color imported from Germany, but the Jerseys are a mutation from white developed here in the U.S.

I have one Speckled Sussex and Blue Orpingtons; although the Orpington itself isn't rare, I'd say Blues qualify.

Speckled, I haven't heard of Blue Orps, other than yours. I read somewhere that Jersey Giants were rare, is that true??

Jersey Giants are endangered, but not rare. The black and white colors are fairly easy to find from hatcheries, but blue isn't available from any commerical ones. There are a few individual breeders that I've been able to find, but most are just hobbiests like myself.
