Sorry you are facing this...I guess i have to cull him![]()
You said you have only had him for two months... can he go back where he came from?
I personally would cull... the meaner the roo the sweeter the stew... but the thing is... it doesn't have to be done in anger or in an ugly fashion... done quickly it is a much more humane choice then letting him go somewhere he might be kicked or worse.
If you don't have the heart to feed him to your family... maybe you can find someone else who will be thankful for the meat to feed to their family or pets... worse comes to worse... feed the Earth and compost him. In the circle of life every thing dies... All my birds live a great life and have one bad moment that's over before they even know it...
Being attacked is dangerous for you and your health and well being are important... This boy has received the wrong message and changing it will be very difficult at this point on my experience... we don't keep chickens so we can fear for our safety. We keep them to enhance our lives.
Dumping is a completely unacceptable answer in ANY situation... if you want him to go to a shelter type situation... try calling and setting it up. But culling is NOT mean.. it's part of life if you keep roosters.
Hang in there!
