I am not sure they actually addressed the original question though.

The main reasons why coop plans are so expensive is:

a) it takes a LOT of time and energy to draw up plans. I mean, apart from the design aspect. Just getting all the quarter-inches to add up and making sure you've got everything right is a significant task.

and

b) many people who sell coop plans are doing it to try to make a few bucks, like as part of their income. It's sure NICE when people give things away free, but just as you work for a living and need to get paid, you gotta expect that the same is true for other people

You don't wanna pay $30, don't

(There are enough sources of FREE shed or playhouse plans out there that I don't see why anyone should pay for plans at all, if they don't want to.)

Pat, not big on building from other peoples' plans anyhow, I usually either just sketch the main construction and wing the details or I draw up my own plans

People PLAN these things?? You mean they don't just take stuff laying around the yard and see what fits together?? Or maybe that's just me...

I have never ever built anything in my life! LOL I guess I need plans because I have no idea how to make it sturdy? What holds the corners together, the roof on etc.. I guess I could just buy wood and hammer it all together and pray to god it holds up to our winds here.
