Why are most BYC'ers female?

Until the advent of modern confinement operations historically women have been the ones to look after the family poultry flock. Of course there have always been plenty of men involved doing the same thing, but historically speaking it was the women who kept the chickens. Much the same today.

I was going to say this basically. My grandmother tended to the chickens more while my grandfather and uncles delt with the Cattle, Hogs and crops. Also I think much of this social interaction is done from the office/cubicle environment witch seems to me to be very female oriented.​

Seriously, I think its just that men tend to wait until they have something to say and then they say it. Women are naturally more chatty.

I would love nothing better than to stay at home and take care of the chickens, and the sheep, and the goats, and the pigs, and the dogs, and the geese, and the ducks, and the rabbitts, and the yaks, and the cows, and the gardens, and the crops, and the house, and the dinners, and the etc, etc, etc while my future same sex husband works all day. I would really love that. But, instead I get to leave the chickens at home and the dog while I go work at an off farm job just like he does, and help pay for everything so some day I can follow that dream. Men don't like asking for help? pffff
