What am I doing wrong?
Just checking, because i don't see it mentioned yet:
Hens will not lay eggs when the day length is too short. If they are exposed to the natural daylength that is fine, because at this time of year there is plenty of light for a hen to lay eggs.

But if you shut them into a dark coop every night, and don't let them out until late in the morning, they might not get enough hours of light each day. (This would only apply if your coop blocks most light out. Most coops with windows, or with plenty of openings for ventilation, will not have this problem.)

Theri coop has a window and plenty of ventalation. I let them out every morning between 5:30 am and 6am and then they usually go into the coop on their on around 8pm
