Why are they all fighting for the same nestbox????

I have 5/7 girls laying now, and we have 4 nestingboxes, and they all pretty much want only one of the boxes!! We have been finding some of the eggs kicked out of the box because of their wanting it. WHY????

You could put in 20 nestboxes and they will still do it. I've referreed more nestbox fights than I can count.

block that box off and make them choose another ... and a few days of laying in the new egg box --- open the old box and maybe some will stay and others will go back to the old favorite

They like what they like. Can't explain it. Sometimes, I find anywhere from 5 to 10 eggs in 1 nesting box. Who knows.
