Why are they being so loud???

Is it possible that their area is dirty? Sometimes the chicks and especially the ducklings let us know that they need a bedding change ASAP...Lol.

Shoot shovel and shut up..it's what people do for predators including but not limited to the neighborhood roaming pets...

Let's say you see the neighbor's dog in your yard harassing your chickens 2 or 3 times and then go tell the owner about it, but you keep seeing the dog...what do you do? You SSS...

Then when the neighbor says, "Hey! have you seen my dog?"
You answer, "Nope, haven't seen him around my yard in awhile."

I've already said that if I have to kill any owl or hawk trying to get at my babies, they're going to the taxidermist and on a pole in my garden.

I don't know what will be my biggest problem, possibly my own dogs on the beginning - that is until we have a good understanding with the assistance of the electric fence. There are all kinds of critters around here! Snakes will be a big problem. I have some monster big ones. My nephew killed a baby copperhead at their place yesterday. I hate it when it's not safe to go out at night because of the dang serpents! A few days ago there was a cute little baby rabbit hopping around and me and my nephew were going to catch it and I be dang if the thing didn't run right into the entrance of the snake den! I HOPE it made it back out but I really doubt it. As warm as it has been the past few days I'm afraid they might have been ready for a meal. Poor bunny. I hope not! It was so cute, so little would fit in the palm of your hand.

I'm rattling so I'll be quiet now. :)

How did you know! LOL

We get "Squatch" stories from the locals out here all the time. At first we thought they were just trying to scare us off - we moved here into the country from a larger city and everyone knew it. Now, I've found out there's actually quite a large group of menfolk that take off on full moons to try and catch a Sasquatch. I'd totally dismiss them as crazy, except the knocking I hear on full moons off these ridges and mountains around me are NOT woodpeckers. LOL

Yep, copperheads are trouble here, too. We purposefully don't keep a wood pile for that very reason. If we have a bonfire planned, we go collect wood and burn it ALL before we go in for the night. Too risky with little boys wanting to poke around for me to take any chances! I hope your bunny made it, too.
