Recently my hens' laying has been collapsing. Average past couple months they've been laying a dozen and a half per day, but I recently got 15% egg ration and it went down. A week later I bought 20% chick crumbles and laying has gone down to the single digits. Probably also the snap cold that's been throwing them off, any suggestions for feed that'll help their laying?

How old are your birds?
How long have you had them?
20% chick feed is fine....
....as long as you also provide some oyster shell in a separate container.
What were you feeding them before?
Any other foods or treats that they get?
Cold and especially short days can reduce laying even in pullets(birds under one year old).

Try feeding Egg Producer by Nutrena Feeds, its a 23% protien feed...after the molt my 2 year old hens were laying one egg every few days (I have 20 layers) and after 2 weeks on this high protein feed I'm now finding 4 eggs a day, and it will increase from here on. Also give mealworms or raw hamburger. Best of luck!
