why cant geese lay eggs yet?

My goose is keeping it a secret too. Last year at this time mating was going on and her first egg was Jan 31, this year no mating and I don't think I'll see and egg anytime soon. Looks like the frozen tundra out side maybe that has something to do with it.

Apparently my geese didn't get the no eggs notice. I have 9 so far and my girls are from last years hatch.

Sadly for ye But my geese are mating extra early and i might expect eggs anyday now they never mated or layed this early!

I've been getting eggs but no mating yet. This will be a first for my goose and for me too! Lol... Last year I had 2 geese. Sadly I lost one and got a gander who thinks he's a chicken and wants nothing to do with my sweet goose, so will see what happens!

I've got a goose brooding on some eggs right now! Lol, I have no idea if they are fertile or not, but we should know by Feb 15th or so.
