My DH calls me from work this evening to ask how many eggs I have in the frig.
He gives me egg orders from the folks he works with.
One wants four dozen eggs, one wants six dozen, one wants four dozen.
What in the blue blazes do these people do with all these eggs????
Okay, the one lady I can understand. She's doing a wedding cake and needs 4 dozen eggs, but the others?
The funny part is one of these people is a single firefighter. He buys six dozen at a time. He says he makes alot of cornbread? I make alot of cornbread too, one egg for each batch.
I have five plus dozen in the frig. right now. The lady doing the wedding cake doesn't need them until the 17th, so that do-able.
I still want to have three dozen available for the next time my favorite egg customer needs some.
My girls better get busy, work overtime. Maybe I can teach the cats.....? Nevermind.

Seriously though...

I wonder if the single firefighter takes them in to work. A lot of fire stations have full kitchens and the guys/gals all eat together...

More hens means more coops.
I am ready to go proactive with this. I'm trying to manage either an incubator or a few silkies for my birthday this month. Hatch out more hens to lay more eggs. Worry about where they're gonna live later.

Nah, in our small town the station is only manned during the day. Everyone responds to fires from home.
