Why did chickens all suddenly stop laying?

We have 4 one year old laying hens that have been giving us 4 eggs a day. This past week has been very hot (80's plus) and we also moved the new pullets in with 3 of the 4 older hens (and kept the mean, top of the pecking order hen separate since her hobby is to peck all the feathers off every ones butts) Since doing this on Monday we have only had one egg. Could this be due to the heat or due to the fact we put young ones in with them or even due to the fact we separated the head lady?

it can be due to both. i know a change can cause this to happen. when I first got my pullet the change to moving to my house stopped her from laying for two months. now she lays every day. to every other day. I'm sure she will start back up again when she is comfortable. best wishes.

The 3 hens are VERY slowly dealing with the fact that they now have to share the entire coop with the new pullets and the new pullets are doing their best to stay out of pecking reach. The lead hen who is still separted started laying again after a 2 days and today one of the 3 that is mingling with the pullets laid an egg. Not sure which one but pretty sure it isn't the one that just seems sad. I think she she misses the lead hen and sits right next to the pen she is in. I hope to reintroduce her this weekend. And I hope I can get back to 4 eggs a day. I hate the thought of buying eggs in the store.
