why did the post office lady say this?

I call the post office every day til they arrive and I don't give them time to call me!

ya we are going back everyday until my girls arrive then we will bring the little dears home but the post master wasnt there they only had that one person there

All I have to do is put a note in the mailbox telling my postal carrier that I'm expecting a shipment of chicks or hatching eggs, where they are coming from and to call me and I'll come pick them up. I make sure I put my name, address and phone number on the note. They have always called me. When I pick them up they always want to know what kind I'm getting this time. If its chicks you usually can hear them in the front. Of course, I live in a small town too.

I have a really great Postal Worker and the crew at my local branch of the post office is always very helpful. I guess I'm lucky! Living in a "Big" city.

I get fish shipped to me, and my recent order of chicks caused a bit of a stir!

I told them that according to the local ordinances we could keep chickens here in the city, 4 non crowing birds and 1 roo, but that I only had pullets in the box. They didn't realize that. I said I was raising them for the eggs and possibly meat. I said with the price of groceries going up, I was going to grow my own food and can and preserve what I could.

Might start a local co-op out of this!

I'd gave that woman a peice of my mind!

As soon as my chicks arrived my postal worker called me at 8a.m sharp and I went straight and got them.

She had peeked in and looked at the chicks and noted to me one didnt make it so I could get my refund for that chick.

Our PO calls at 7:30 AM on the dot when I have a shipment, and they let me go around back to the employee/loading dock entrance to pick them up before the PO even opens. And my postman is great...He walks my eggs up to the door and knock loudly because we are usually in the den upstairs and don't hear a regular knock. He also keeps the boxes of eggs in the cab of his truck so they don't freeze.
