One of my girls laid an egg twice normal size yesterday. This won't become a regular thing I hope. Her egg today was normal sized. Opinions?

There is not always a precise answer for that happening. Sometimes they just lay a big un. Hae you checked to see if it is a doulbel yolker? Sometimes that is why it is big, and sometimes they will lay a double yolker again and sometimes not.

I wouldn't complain!!!

Two of my girls are laying super-sized eggs on a regular basis - 1 or 2 per week each. I'll try to include one or two in the dozen I sell my to my regular customer as a special bonus. They love it. Every once and a while one is also a double-yolker.

Ok thanks for sharing your experiences. I am new to raising chickens. My babies are all growed up and 7 months old now.

I've got one chicken that regularly lays double yokers; have to eat them because they dont fit in the egg cartons!

This was my concern as well. I think I will be making omelettes for breakfast tomorrow (since I'm on vacation now) and check this one out.
