Why do all of my babies have pasty butt?!

A little vaseline around the vent prevents pasty butt.

some of my RIR chics had pasty butt. After about 3 days of the butt dunk, i wiped their bums with vaseline also. Wrked like a charm.

This is the second day in a row that I have had to give my babies warm water butt soaks! WHY?!

What I did when i hatched some chicks is I didn't use shavings I used dirt (no fertilizer) because it has sand in it and it won't paste up the chicks
