Why do people keep Heads & Legs

Just had a thought, we eat the wings. Sales go pretty well at bars along with beers, so why not feet?

Just a little crunch batter and some hot sauce.

In the Dominican Republic (and other carribean islands) they actually eat the feet and neck. There isnt much meat on them but they eat it all!

I keep the heads and feet for my dogs. The feet have glucosamine and chondroiten in them... Good for the hips!

The feet are really good for making stock- they're full of connective tissue and collagen that turns to gelatin and makes for thick stock.

talk about aging your meat!

I have relatives that eat chicken feet and make broth out of whatever is leftover (bones and YES chicken FEET). I still find it a bit odd. Can't bring myself to eat chicken feet though I guess I should try making my own broth with the feet in it as well. As far as the head. That's gross! ha ha

Heads and feet also make good dog food (we rawfeed) but I sometimes keep a couple of the feet back for my stock like everyone else has mentioned.
My dog Dusti is also known for "aging" her meat a little bit especially when it comes to the heads, but I think it's about 3 days tops

Never!! More power to the rest of you ~ I am so happy that you have the best broth around. I think I'll stick to my plain jane broth using, the leg portions.
